Childrens Kitten Party Game Ideas

There are endless possibilities for games and activities to accompany the kitten party theme. The following are only a few ideas that you can use when planning your party.

Kitten Tag

Fun for little ones, Kitten Tag is a variation on the standard game of tag. In Kitten Tag, the children must walk on their hands and knees while mewing like kittens.

Balloon Pop

Give each child a balloon and have a race to see which child can pop his or hers first by sitting on it or squeezing it between their knees.

Balloon Races

Armed with a balloon and a kitten blowout, children must attempt to move their balloons from one designated spot on the floor to another, using the air from the blowout to move the balloon forward. The first to cross the finish line wins the prize, but all children can keep their balloons and blowouts as favors.

Pin the Tag on the Kitten

This fun kitten game is an inexpensive alternative to Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Children choose tags and are blindfolded whilst trying to place the tag in the correct spot on the kitten image. Whichever child places his or her tag closest to the outlined area wins.

Where's the Kitten?

A secondary use for Kitten Cake Decorations! Hide the four kitten figurines throughout the room or rooms where the party is taking place. Each time a child finds a kitten, he or she wins a prize. For a bigger challenge, place each party guest's name on one figurine and require that each child find his or her kitten in order to get their prize. The children can also take their kitten decoration home with them as a party favor.

Scavenger Hunt

Especially fun for older children, a Scavenger Hunt is a simple yet effective way to entertain guests at a party. Divide children into teams of two or three and give each a list of items to find or tasks to complete. Whichever team crosses all items off of their list first wins!

Create a Cake

With each child sitting around a table, place in the center icings and decorations that are easily within their reach. Give each child an undecorated cupcake or cookie and let them design their own! In the end, they get to eat their own creation. Encourage children to make cat themed cookies or cupcakes, using coated chocolate sweets as eyes, licorice for whiskers, and so on.

To add even more fun to the games, be sure to have prizes on hand. A grand prize for the winner, such as a large kitten balloon and smaller prizes for the other participants, such as stickers or party bubbles, is a way to ensure that the children leave the games happy and without hurt feelings.
